Judges Bio

David Enloe

David Enloe is in his sixteenth year as Director of Bands at Hickory High School.  Mr. Enloe is a highly regarded arranger, clinician, and adjudicator.  He has been involved with many well-respected programs on the secondary and collegiate levels.  Mr. Enloe attended Jacksonville State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.  While at Jacksonville State, Mr. Enloe studied French Horn and Conducting with Bayne Dobbins.  He has also received his Master’s Degree in Conducting with Professor Anthony Maiello at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

 

Mr. Enloe, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, believes in maintaining a well-balanced program at the high school level.  His bands have achieved many accomplishments ranging from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City to being named a Virginia Honors Band.  Mr. Enloe has served as a clinician and adjudicator up and down the East Coast, as well as adjudicating for the Bands of America.  At his current position at Hickory High School, his responsibilities include directing the Wind Ensemble and Concert B-day band, overseeing and arranging for the 220 member Marching Hawks, directing two Jazz Ensembles, and teaching 6th grade band at Hickory Middle School.  The program at Hickory High School has flourished in the last ten years and has grown to over 300 students involved in the band program.

 

Mr. Enloe is an active performing musician, playing in the Hampton Horn Choir and the Virginia Wind Symphony.  Mr. Enloe’s affiliations include MENC, VMEA, and the National Band Association.
