Dr. Donny Allen

Dr. Allen serves as an Assistant Director of Bands at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is the Conductor of the Wind Ensemble and Assistant Director of Athletic Bands. His duties also include chamber ensemble instruction and music history instruction.

Donny earned his Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Memphis., studying with Dr. Kraig Alan Williams and Dr. Nicholas Holland. He earned his Bachelor's in Music Education and Master's in Instrumental Conducting from East Carolina University.

Dr. Allen previously served in the U.S. Army as principal horn for the bands at Ft. Gordon, GA and Ft. Benning, GA. Donny taught in the public schools at West Craven High School in Vanceboro, NC. He is a member of CBDNA, the International Horn Society, GMEA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He is an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi and Tau Beta Sigma.
