Dear Students and Parents,
One of my goals of this band program is to offer performance opportunities that allow the band program to grow through new experiences. One way of accomplishing this is by offering a spring trip open to the entire band program. It gives me great pleasure to announce the Wakefield Band Program will be performing and competing in the Busch Gardens “Performance in the Park” Series this spring. This trip is very unique because we will be adjudicated by two clinicians, similar to how we will be adjudicated at MPA. The fun part is we will also have the entire day to enjoy Busch Gardens, after we perform.
Package includes:
Friday, April 27th
- Dinner on at Golden Corral, Pizza Hut (or similar)
- 1 night’s accommodations(approx. 4 students per room) at the Hampton Inn & Suites Historic Area – Williamsburg, VA
Saturday, April 28th
- Breakfast at the hotel
- Participation in Music In The Parks music festival
- Admission to Busch Gardens Amusement Park
- Meal coupon for a meal in the park
- Dinner at Golden Corral, Pizza Hut (or similar)
Financial Responsibilities:
The trip will cost each member a total of $200. This pays for everything in the package, as well as the transportation costs. The students will be given the opportunity to fundraise for this trip throughout the months leading up to the trip. Students also have the option of paying for the trip upfront as well. Any student who still has a balance on their fare share account will have to pay the difference before they can start paying for the trip. All students must pay a deposit of $50, no later than January 20th 2012 to reserve their spot on the trip. Academic Responsibilities: All students attending this trip must be passing all of their classes. Even though we are not missing any school time, it is imperative that all students are passing in order to continue doing trips of this nature in the future. Those students who are in jeopardy of failing a class must get a signed note from that teacher to allow them to go on this field trip.
