Bobby McFarland
     Director of Bands & Orchestra

      Mr. McFarland began his tenure as the Director of Bands & Orchestra at Wakefield High School in the Fall of 2021. For the past 10 years, he has been a          high school band director in Johnston County, leading an award winning marching
      band, concert bands and winter ensembles, including winning bronze and gold
      ​medals at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH in 2017 & 2018 respectively. He previously graduated from UNC Greensboro with his degree in instrumental music education in 2011. He is an active freelance trombonist who teaches privately in the Johnston and Wake County areas. Mr. McFarland is incredibly excited to begin this new venture with such a wonderful organization in a vibrant community that supports the arts and the achievements of its students.
