In order to give more students the opportunity to perform, the WHS Band Boosters will sponsor Affinity Winter Guard, a cooperative effort between WHS and Sanderson High students. Paul Orsett will instruct the group. The group will compete in Scholastic Regional A. They will perform to "Sambandrea Swing" by Don Menza and performed by Louis Bellson.

This year we will make our first steps into marching percussion by fielding the Wakefield HS Winter Percussion. The goals of this group of students will be to provide a performance opportunity for wind players who wish to learn a secondary instrument as well as to introduce the concepts and techniques of marching percussion to our percussionists. The group will perform a program entitled “The Duality of Man” and will feature music from the Broadway Musical “Jekyl and Hyde”. Joshua Potter and Leon Baker will instruct the ensemble.
