One of the most respected percussion teachers,
arrangers, clinicians and judges in the United States, DeLucia has led drumlines to sixteen "High Percussion" championships
and has conducted clinics in 41 states and abroad. He has taught at Rutgers University in New Jersey since 1996. He is a member
of the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame and the Drum Corps International (DCI) Hall of Fame, and a television analyst for the
annual DCI finals on PBS.
DeLucia, a New Jersey resident, is the author of two books, "The Drummer's Daily Drill" and "Dennis DeLucia's Percussion Discussion"-the
latter of which led reviewer Michael Boo to opine, "It's possible that no one in the world of marching percussion today has the background
and experience that Dennis DeLucia has accumulated."
In addition to his sixteen championships, DeLucia netted the only Triple Crown in drum corps history in 1981. He has written for and
taught a variety of DCI Corps including the Star of Indiana, the Crossmen, the Hawthorne Muchachos, the Bayonne Bridgemen, the Sunrisers,
and the Caballeros.
Matt Savage,WGI Effect Judge
Matt Savage, a graduate of the
Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York and The University of Southern California, has taught at
every level of public education from elementary to the college level. Along with teaching in public
education, Matt also has twenty-five years of playing and teaching experience in the marching percussion
field. This experience includes playing snare drum with the legendary Bayonne Bridgemen and serving as
percussion director and arranger for drum and bugle corps such as the Anaheim Velvet Knights, The Dutchboy
of Kitchener, Ontario and the Canton Bluecoats. At the collegiate level, Matt has served as percussion instructor
for the USC Trojan Marching Band and is currently director of percussion at The University of North Carolina where
he has also served as Assistant Director of University Bands.
He is heavily involved with the indoor percussion activity as an adjudicator for WGI. Matt has
recently delved into the art of drumstick and mallet design for the Pro Mark drumstick company creating the "Matt Savage"
series of sticks and mallets. His most recent publication is "The Matt Savage Rudimental Workshop", a state of the art
rudiment development book with 2 CD accompaniment published by Warner Bros. Music. He is also a clinician for Yamaha
Pecussion, Pro Mark Drum Sticks, Sabian Cymbals and Remo Inc.
Jim Patrick,Central States Judges' Association
Mr. Patrick served as a high school band director for 20 years in
Ohio, where his bands consistently earned Superior ratings at Concert Band Festivals and his Marching Bands won many area and state contests.
Following his career as a classroom teacher, Mr. Patrick worked for 15 years as an administrator. Currently, he resides in Kentucky, where he
works as a mental health therapist for Comprehend, Inc. Mr. Patrick's educational background includes degrees from Morehead State University,
Xavier University and The University of Dayton. He is an active adjudicator for the Central States Judges' Association, having adjudicated bands
in 13 different states. He has served as an adjudicator for the state championships in each of the following states: Indiana, Florida, Nebraska,
Colorado, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
Miles Threlkeld,Central States Judges' Association
Miles Threlkeld is a member of the Central States Judges Association and
the Michigan Competing Band Judges Association. He has judged regional and state final contests in Ohio, Indiana, Oklahoma, Florida, Kentucky and
Michigan. He hold a Bachelor's of Music Education Degree from Morehead State University and a Master's of Music Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
Mr. Threlkeld has eleven years instrumental teaching experience in the Boyle County (KY) and Fayette County (KY) school districts. He has been involved
for twenty-five years in the drum and bugle corps activity as a performer, instructor and adjudicator. He currently serves as a judge for Drum Corps Midwest.

Doug Casteen,WGI Judge
Mr. Casteen is from Raleigh, North Carolina and is a
graduate of NC State University. He has been judging marching bands
and color guards for the last 16 years. His marching experience includes
marching in drum corps international with Avant Garde from Saratoga
Springs NY, the 27th Lancers from Revere, MA, and the Star of Indiana
from Bloomington, IN. In addition, he is active as an adjudicator for
the USSBA, ISSMA, CIPA, FFCC and is currently the Chief Judge for AIA.
Mr. Casteen is also a General Effect judge for Winter Guard
International (WGI).
Jim Dwyer,WGI Visual Caption Head
James J. Dwyer is currently the
caption head for Ensemble Analysis with Winter Guard International. In addition to this responsibility Jim
is on the WGI Steering Committee and he is also the WGI Instructor for Ensemble Analysis for the Percussion
Academy for WGI.
Jim is a founding board member and Judge Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic Percussion Society and he is an active
judge for WGI, MAPS, USSBA, Michigan Competitive Bands, Southern California Percussion Association, Rocky Mountain
Percussion Association, Indiana Percussion Association, NESBA, WGI Friendship Cup, Cavalcade of Bands, East Coast
Judges Guild and the Garden State Circuit.
Jim has been involved in the Marching Arts for over thirty years with experience as a snare drummer for the Crossmen
for four years, a 7 year director of percussion for the North Penn Marching nights and Jim was also the Director of Percussion
for the Conquest Alliance in the UK during their championship season of 1984.
Percussion
Dan Boothe,WGI Percussion Judge
Dan Boothe currently studies
composition at Radford University, Virginia. His symphonic band music is published by TRN and his percussion
arrangements have been performed throughout the country. He is one of todays most sought after percussion adjudicators
judging regional, national and international competitions including the WGI World Championships. He also maintains
an active performing and conducting schedule while serving as Music Director of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Xi Theta Chapter,
member of the College Music Society, National Honors Society, Radford University Academic Honors Society, and Phi Kappa Lambda
National Honors Society for Music. Academically he has been recognized as Maryland Distinguished Scholar, a University of North
Texas Charn Uswachoke Scholarship winner and was recently named 2003-2004 “Presser Scholar” by the Presser Foundation. Mr. Boothe
has studied conducting with Fredrick Fennell, composition with Mark Camphouse, and marimba with She-e Wu and is endorsed by Vic Firth
Inc. as a USA Marching Persussion Specialist.
Color Guard
Warren Rickart,WGI Color Guard Judge
Warren Rickart judges nationally and internationally for Winter Guard
International and is the Assistant Chief Judge of the Atlantic States Judges Association. He is the former chief judge of the Southern States
Judges Association and has been a member of the Mid-East Judges Association, Southern States Judges Association and Gulf Coast Judges Association.
Mr. Rickart is a former member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and Miller's Blackhawks Winter Guard. From 1993-1996 he was the Visual
Caption Head at James Madison HS, Vienna, VA and most recently was on the visual and color guard staffs at Oakton HS and Herndon HS in northern Virginia.
He resides in Washington, DC where he works as a business manager for The Associated Press.
Drum Major
Phil Leisy,Conductor, Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps
A graduate of Wakefield High School, Phil Leisy,
was a member of the first marching bands of the school. While still a student at WHS, Phil excelled as a leader on and off the
field and helped to establish many of the traditions and expectations of performance that are a standard of the Wakefield Bands today.
Upon his graduation from Wakefield, Mr. Leisy joined the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps. There he has performed for two summers
on trumpet. This past summer, his third, he served as a conductor for the corps. He will return for his age out season this coming summer.
Phil currently resides in Chapel Hill, where he is a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
